An upgrade cannot touch your pet, and that is not restraint on our part. The contract made the decision for us, permanently.
the pet underneath never changes
Not a policy, a fact. The token can never point at another renderer, and the renderer is frozen, so the picture is welded in place. There is no admin function that could alter it and no key that could unlock it. Not even us.
layers are drawn around, never on
A frame sits outside the tile, a background sits behind the pet, an accessory sits beside it. Nothing paints over the art you own.
$BITS opens the slot, not the choice
You spend once to open a slot. After that, switching what sits in it is free and unlimited, because nobody should feel punished for changing their mind.
upgrades follow the pet
Slots and looks are stored against the pet, not your wallet. Sell it and the buyer inherits them, so a pet you dressed is worth what you put into it.
cosmetic, and never rarity
An upgrade is not a trait. It never enters the trait table, the tier or the rank. The collection we published a provenance hash for stays exactly the collection we published.
it will not show on other marketplaces
They read the token's own art, which is the frozen on-chain pet. Only this site draws the layers. We would rather tell you now than have you find out from a listing.
where $BITS comes from
Resting earns $BITS. Upgrading spends it. That is the loop: a pet that sits with you long enough pays for its own look, and the only way to earn faster is to combine, which burns supply.
Until it is deployed, what you earn is counted in our own records. When the token exists, those balances are published and frozen at a stated block first, so going on chain never asks you to trust a number you could not check.
honestly, what is not decided
What a slot costs, what the options are and where they come from, whether combining carries upgrades across, and whether a pet's look is public or only yours to see. The $BITS token itself is not written, not audited and not deployed, and nothing about its supply or its price has been decided. None of it is promised until it exists.

we sent a proposal to @arc
It went out this morning, and we are holding this feature until the Arc team comes back to us. Nothing has been agreed and nothing has been promised on their side, so please read this as us asking rather than us announcing. We hope for good news about our program, and we will say so either way once we hear.
